Finding Joy , 2008

Taking its name from a military term describing the act of making radio contact with comrades on the battlefield, Finding Joy was a site-specific audio workshop at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Workshop participants were provided with the raw materials to build small DIY foxhole radios, which they used to locate prerecorded transmissions made by various members of the MOCA community (staff, board members, and vistors) during a very dire moment in the museum's history. Their messages explored the things that brought them joy.
