11. Poverty
 
Definition:

 
The condition of having little or no wealth or material possessions; indigence, destitution, want. In recent years, research tapping the perspectives of poor people has recognized that poverty involves a wider set of deprivations, including vulnerability and exclusion from society, in addition to material destitution.  Oxford English Dictionary
 
What are some of the problems related to this issue?
 
Seventy-five percent of Mexico's population lives in poverty today, compared with 49 percent in 1981, before Mexico underwent reforms that paved the way for NAFTA-the North American Free Trade Agreement.  The number living in severe poverty (living on less than $2 a day) has grown by four million since NAFTA began in 1994.  Corpwatch
